Clubs and Activities
Bike Club:
*Meets every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00
*Works to fix old beat up bicycles
*See Dr. Uribe for membership
*Volunteer your time and get to keep one of the fixed bikes
Student Council:
*Meets two times a month 2:15-3:00
*Volunteers their time to organize fund raising projects for the school, Spirit Week, Deck the Walls, and Teacher Appreciation breakfast
*Two representatives are chosen from each class, then all of the representatives vote on the Student Council Officers
*Looking for students who are leaders, responsible, creative, and interested in helping the school
*Grades 2-5
*Sponser - Mrs. Pluta
Color Guard:
*P.E. Teachers choose 4 students in 5th grade every month based on behavior and performance in all classes
*Students meet every morning and every afternoon to put up and take down the flag
*At the end of the month, the volunteers get a pizza party and Friday free time to reward their hard work
Choir:
*Anyone can sign up
*Meet every Tuesday after school 3-4
*Winter and Spring Concerts
Band:
*Anyone can sign up but space is limited (first come, first serve)
*Students from the year before will have first priority
*Must take a test to receive instrument
*You can select 3 instruments and will be issued one of them for the entire school year
*Meet with your group of instruments during the day at school
*Winter and Spring Concerts
Basketball:
*Meet every Monday afternoon 3:15-4:15 to practice basketball
*Anyone can sign up for either the boys club or the girls club
*Not competitive, just for fun and practice
*September-February
Destination Imagination:
*Must be creative, a problem solver, and a thinker
*One team per grade lever (space limited)
*Go to a competition in March
*Meet with your coach once a week at a designated time for one hour, either before school or after school
After School Tutoring:
*Students are assigned to teachers from Goldrick
*Students are divided up into grade level
*Work on skills to help students succeed in the content they are working on in class (January-March)
Education Station:
*Students must apply to be a part of this program
*This helps students in all grades, at all levels, increase their knowledge in all content areas
*After school on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00
Math Night:
*Family math night happens once a year (in the Spring)
*There are math games, trivia, and dinner for families who attend
CiCi's Pizza Night:
*Once a month, each grade has a designated Pizza Night
*Each student is given a sticker, and if they go with friends or family, the proceeds go to the school
Contests:
Math Mania:
*Math or logic poblem sent home in every other Thursday Folder
*Students turn in their answers (and show their work) to Mrs. Pluta
*Anyone who gets the problem correct wins a prize (unlimited number of winners)
P.E. Class of the Month:
*Every month, one class out of the whole school is chosen based on good behavior, sportsmanship, following directions, and teamwork
*The winner gets a pizza party and gets to play games for an extra class period (45 minutes)
