Community Partners

Just the Facts

Goldrick Elementary is working on changes to our school called “redesign.” Part of the redesign process includes creating a new vision for the school and focusing on some specific areas we want to improve.

The Big Idea

Right now, our school isn’t doing enough to help our kids learn — just 1 in 10 students is leaving Goldrick prepared for middle school. So, we’re looking at every part of our school for ways to improve.

A New Vision

In Fall 2015, teachers and families helped define a shared mission and vision for Goldrick Elementary. A shared vision and mission will help teachers and families make big changes to improve our school, by ensuring we’re all moving forward in the same direction. Our focus will be:

Excellent Instruction

Character and Leadership Development

Strong Relationships

We Heard You

To help bring our vision to life, we’ve been seeking community partners that are committed to the same values we are.  Check out the back of this flyer to “meet” some our new and returning community partners!

Goldrick Community Partners

CityYear

Our City Year partnership will be new this year and we’re excited to host Corps Members who will be supporting students and in-and-out of the classroom.  Look forward to the fun family events and after school activities they will host!

MariaDrosteCounseling

Maria Droste Counseling Center has been part of the Denver community for the last 25 years.  They work to provide more access to emotional support for students.  We are so lucky that we’ll have two counselors joining us next year to support students during tough times or in learning new skills.

playworks

Playworks believes that every child should feel included, be active and build valuable social and emotional skills.  We will have our own Playworks coach next year who will support our students in achieving all of those goals by teaching students great recess activities and ensuring everyone has a chance to participate!

BridgeProject

The Westwood Bridge Project runs after school and summer programs.  It is currently home to the Robotics Program, a STEM initiative in partnership with the Binning Family Foundation.  Many Goldrick students have participated in Bridge Project programming in the past and we’re excited to continue our partnership!

AthmarLibrary

The Athmar Public Library is not only our neighbor but also an incredible partner supporting the love of literacy in our community.  Check out their summer reading programs and look forward to the after school program starting again in September!
