Joel Fresquez

My name is Joel Fresquez and I am native to Colorado.  Most of my family resides here as well.  I lived in Africa for a few years and met a beautiful lady from Uganda who I soon married.  She and I have a son, who turned 1 year in January.  We look forward to our second baby in November of '08.

I have been teaching physical education for the past 12 years.  I received my bachelor's degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where I also began teaching at a local K-8 school.  I then moved from Durango to Senegal, West Africa and taught at a mission school for another 3 years.  I made my last transition back to Colorado and started with the Denver Public Schools.  This is my third year at Goldrick Elementary and I love it here.  Goldrick is a great school with a professional staff that is fully committed to the kids and the community.   I often tell people I have the BEST job in the world!  Where else can you work with children teaching sports and games and get paid?
