Patti Melosh

Hi, my name is Patti Melosh. I have been teaching third grade at Goldrick since 2003. Before that I taught second grade at Columbine Elementary. I started there in 1999. Before I was hired to teach for DPS I was a substitute teacher. I subbed one year for Adams District 12 and four years for Knox County Schools in Knoxville, Tennessee. I was born in San Jose, California. My family (mother, father and older sister) moved to a new state every three years or so as I was growing up. So, I have lived in San Jose, CA, Louisville, KY, Allentown, PA, Bristol, VA, Troy (Detroit), MI, Knoxville, TN and Denver (Westminster), CO. My family moved to Westminster when I was in ninth grade. I graduated from Northglenn High School in 1989. Being 18 and ready to get away from my parents, I decided to go to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I finished my Bachelor's Degree (major in Theatre and minor in Elem. Ed.) in 1993. I student taught during the 1994-95 school year. I finished my Master's degree (in Curriculum and Instruction) in 1996. I could have finished in 1995, but I was getting married in August. I focused on wedding plans during that summer. After subbing in Knoxville for four years and not getting a full-time job, and talking to my mother on a regular basis- She was always saying "Denver needs teachers!" Mr. Melosh and I moved to the Denver area in 1998. The rest you could say is history. I do not have any children except the 25 or so that I have each year at school. I do have two nephews and one niece. I have two cats, McLeod and Lilly. McLeod is a white cat and Lilly is a black cat. I enjoy reading and cross-stitch. Mr. Melosh and I are both HUGE Tennessee Volunteer sports fans, especially football. So, if you are looking for us on a Saturday in the fall, you will find us meeting with the UTK Alumni Association watching the football games. GO VOLS!
